SHSRC in Karnataka is a fledgeling organisation under the umbrella of NRHM. It was registered as an independent society on 02-03-2009. However activities started only in 2010-11, when consultants and team – leader joined the organisation. It was started with an intent to technically assist the department of Health & Family Welfare and also build the capacities of the officers of the department. Also it has an aim to proactively identify the issues/ gaps/ deficiencies in the system and work towards solving them. It has an ambition to expand its activities by entering into collaboration with like-minded agencies who are working in health – research, strengthening public-health, hospital research, health policy, etc.,
